Thanks Geoff.

Matthew Consett, Thomas Hewlett, Henry ...? Stephen

I can't see a Henry anywhere on the tree.

The tree has Virginia's death in Hobart Town in 1837.

Sir Alfred's bio - HERE

Oh, Henry must be a cousin.

Looking for the birth of:

Florence Adelaide Mansel SMITH who married in Christ Church St Laurence, Sydney in 1868.

The trees have year of death as 1879 for some reason.

No age at death:

Death 2460/1880 STEPHEN FLORENCE A M - JOHN J - ANNE - SYDNEY

STEPHEN Florence Adelaide Mansel Death notice 02NOV1880 Death at Potts Point SMH 05NOV1880

Actually one more middle name Jennings, so Florence A M J.

Father John J = John Jennings.

Anne's maiden name = TIMBERLAKE

John Jennings Smith
marriage: 26 Dec 1818 Cheshunt, Hertford
spouse: Anne Timberlake

One tree has birth for Florence as 1835 London. Also older brother born 1821 but no pob:

John Sketchley Bateman Jennings SMITH :)

They appear to have got around a bit, Hertfordshire, Gloucester, Cambridgeshire and London districts. There is this...

Pallot's Bap. Index:
Harold Selwyn Smith
Baptism Date: Oct 1828
Parent 1: John Jennings Smith
Parent 2: AnneSmith
Parish: Gloucester
County: St. Michael, Gloucestershire

Geoff

Edit: This may be why there is difficulty in tracking their births/bap. they may not be bap. in their POB.

Thanks Geoff.

Looks that way.

The tree has Harold Selwyn born Gloucester 1828 and no death. The trees don't list birth and baptism dates and I know many will use either date as the birth date in trees. Even some of the baptism dates in FS are actually birth dates.

The bio has this:

The Stephens arrived at Hobart Town in the Cumberland on 24 January 1825.
The Smiths not yet.

Looks as though Florence 1835 London is the last child. Well, the trees have none listed after that. No mention of 1841 census in the tree.

Arrival for Smiths must have been 1835 - 1846.

This is possibly the right burial but I'll look it up at the library.

This is said to be the death of Anne nee TIMBERLAKE

325/1884 SMITH ANNE - ROBERT C - ANNE - SYDNEY

but the tree lists her father as Ezekial.

If John died 1846 Anne could well have remarried.

Death 11513/1884 WELLS ANN - EZEKIEL - ROSE A - WAGGA WAGGA

No remarriage in NSW that would fit for that death.

Reverend John Jennings-Smith was believed to be the illegitimate son of King George IV and Sarah Jennings, though English records list his parents’ names as Thomas Smith and Sarah Jennings. - HERE

Mother's Name: Anne A
Birth Place: New South Wales
