Hello,

I've found another error in my tree and now I'm stuck. I have four possible birth reg and no death for Alice. I had the wrong death.

Marriage 14685/1921 GATES THOMAS E H - HENRY ALICE M - SYDNEY

1930 NSW Electoral Roll - Barton - Ramsgate
GATES Thomas William Henry, 50 Griffith st., Sans Souci, school teacher
GATES Alice Mary, 50 Griffith st., Sans Souci, home duties

1933 NSW Electoral Roll - Barton - Ramsgate
GATES Thomas William Henry, 2 Evans st., Sans Souci, school teacher
GATES Alice Mary, 2 Evans st., Sans Souci, home duties

Death 15418/1933 GATES THOMAS W H - WILLIAM H - MARY H - KOGARAH

The Sydney Morning Herald - Thursday 20 July 1933 p.8
DEATHS
GATES.-July 19, 1933, at St George District Hospital Kogarah, Thomas William H., of 2 Evans-street Sans Souci, eldest son of W. H. Gates of Willoughby, and husband of Alice, and father of Willa, Denis and Noelle, aged 34 years.

I can't see another marriage or a death for Alice. I can't see a marriage or a death in NSW for any of the children.

This is not the right one after all:

1954 NSW Electoral Roll - North Sydney - Crow's Nest
GATES Alice Mary, 82 Alexander street, Salvation Army officer
GATES Walter Alfred, 82 Alexander street, Salvation Army officer

GATES Alice Mary Death notice 09NOV1988 Death SMH 10NOV1988

The Sydney Morning Herald - Thursday 10 November 1988 p.36
DEATHS
GATES, Mrs. Lt.Col. Alice Mary.-November 9, 1988, at Macquarie Lodge, dearly loved wife of the late Walter Alfred Gates, loved mother of Donald, Gwenyth and Olwyn...

Regards,

Dave

Despite 4 births in NSW in the right time frame I'm thinking yes, she returned to family.

I've not found a tree yet for any Alice HENRY that helps.

Found lots of Fences.

A look up for a birth for Alice in Tasmania 1895 - 1905 would be handy.

Alice Mary HENRY b. 1887 Hobart - ??? spouse Thomas was born 1898.

About 10 years older. But it is Hobart and Bellerive is Hobart - well it's across on the over side of the river where the cricket ground is.

BTW, the Bradman Museum at Bowral is huge and full of heaps of stuff - interesting even if you don't follow cricket.
