Hi, Thank you

Th realative regarding the name was born c1861. She is named on the 1881 census as Polly Wright and is the sister of Harriett Wright my ggg. Grandmother.

Having looked through some documents online not much seems to be coming up so I was wondering maybe if she had an alternative forename. Thank you for the suggestions and the link.

Glees :)

What name did she have in the 1871 census.

My Gt.Gt.Granny was called Fanny, it took me a while to work her name out, until she popped up as Frances in another search.

I cannot be sure but after looking i think that her name is likely to be Mary Ann. There are definately no Polly wright's of her birth date in 1871 census according to the 1881 census she was born in London. I will keep looking though. Thank you again. :)

Hi there,

Mary, where the Mother was also a Mary, Mary Ann and also Mary Hannah were all Polly's in my families.

Cheers,
Jill
That means that if they were known as Polly, the rest of the family was never short of someone near the kettle. :D

That's truer than you could possibly know Ben! :2fun:

My relatives were all good breeders (we had lots of Aunt Polly's) and when ever I visited anywhere the kettle was always on the boil. It's my most vivid memory of living in England - every problem was solved with a cup of tea!

The dog just died: "well love, I'll make you a nice cup of tea". The bottom's fallen out of the world economy: " it'll all be alright, it'll all be better after you've had your nice cup of tea". And funnily enough it always was. I miss it so much! Over here you'd be prescribed sedatives! >:D
