I have had a few occasions where I am trawling through a parish register and find the baptism, marriage or burial of an ancestor I had been looking for previously, not at the time I was looking for him when I was looking for another ancestor.

I was trawling through some Burnham On Crouch records for a Mary Webb baptism and I stumbled across the baptism of Jeremiah Hurrell in 1772, my ancestor who wed in nearby Canewdon in 1800.

But are you sure! youve got the right one!!
Further you go back the less information is displayed.
Just found one in Quendon - Simon son of John and Mary then blank!
Perhaps they were keeping it secret!
Good luck if its correct!

I think backed up with other evidence I already have found I can say the ones are the right ones. I am a thorough researcher and never add info unless I know it is correct. In some cases 100% is difficult to achieve and you have to go with your instinct unless you find something that proves or disproves it once and for all.

I suspected a lady with a different surname to her sons was the mother. I later found she was through her remarriage which tied everything in.
