Ancestors who worked in the mills

Hello. I'm trying to locate an ancestor who worked in the mills in Oldham Lancashire, please can someone point me in the right direction to where I need to look to obtain more information.

Where were they living at the time, meaning which road they were living in.
Sometimes the house they may lived in would be owned by the Mill owner. Then it's a case of finding where the nearest Mill was to their home.

My Granny worked in the Mills in Manchester, as a cotton bleacher.

Once I've got that information I.e Street etc. Is it then easy to a point to find what they did in which mill. Is that accessible online. She was born in 1920 so wouldn't be on a census. Maybe the 1939 depending on the 100 year rule
