I've hit a new bunch of family tree cobbling ie when one family thread is linked into another thread despite the fact that it makes no sense. So people keep moving across the continent despite the trade directories showing they worked in same place for whole of their life. Their children are born in 2 place at the same time. Parents are born after their children and some live to 200 years old. What makes it more confusing is the family has 4 Samuels in direct line and even quite usually sensible historians have mixed up which Samuel did what. One Samuel apparently rented out a works 20 years after he died. Why do people do it. Don't they ever read the family trees they put together?

Just goes to show Ducky, not to read what is fact, based on fantasy.

It's their money and time to waste. All we can do is make our trees fact, based on fact, or very close to it.

Generally. the first part of most trees is easy(if we're lucky), then getting past the 1841 census, and 1837 registration, is where it gets tricky. It's usually at this time, that people give up, due to the work and money required to make it happen. Or, it's just a case lack of enthusiasm.
