Ancestry search program.

Just did a search on the 1901 census on Ancestry :-
For any Bevans living in Edmonton Middlesex with Bevans set to exact!
First record is for an Ida Shine
Just what is wrong with their search program - no results are better than what you get!!!
Over the years it seems to be getting worse - must be acting on give them some results to keep them interested.

I now download images of things I have found as I have lost count on the number of results I just couldn't repeat to point I was thinking I imagined the result I had found!!

This is a topic that never goes away.
I can find a public tree on Ancestry with matches, but then can't find it a second time with exactly the same search parameters.

You could always Bookmark the page. Rather a pain, but if it's important enough, you can go to it in an instant, hopefully.

Very true, but it doesn't take away from the fact that Ancestry's search parameters are awful to say the least.

Trouble is you never know if its important to keep or bookmark
But if I am following a thread and tracing down the census then I keep an image -can always delete the lot if it turns sour

Ancestree are as useful as a fireguard made of frost.

Also I get sick of the "We're sorry this page is currently unavailable". They are not sorry, they could not care less.

Generic reply for a fix is....'clear cookies and search history', ...drives me nuts.
