1841 census RD Wandsworth
Pc 1068, Bk 6, F7, pg10

James Dyer 45 Carin???(difficult to read)
Ann Dyer 40
Mary Dyer 15
Henry Dyer 15
John Dyer 15
Jane Dyer 12
James Dyer 9
Sarah Dyer 4
Elizabeth Dyer 18 mths
all born this county

(next door is Martha Clark, 70, ind, not born this co.)

Looking at the image of the 1851 census, daughter Jane Bishop age 21 is "wife of a groom", below her is James DYER, age 19, groom (wrongly transcribed as Bishop, he is given as son in law but is correct age to be the son James Dyer) then the three "Bishop" children below this are actually ditto of DYER, not Bishop which fits with the Dyer children in 1841.

The tree I found makes a good case for Marchant, but it can't prove it...

We can't even be sure Ann's mar. is the correct one, though looks good..

I can't see any involvement yet with Ann to show she is a niece

The marriage to Marchant shows William with middle initial F.

The William I've traced shows nothing in census or bap of children or death notice or burial or probate that indicates any middle name.

The pob in census fits better for 2x Gilbert than it does for Marchant.
