Ann/Hannah was born abt 1816 - 1822 possibly London ? to William Adamsole/Adansole ? & Sarah Moore.

Death 1905 MULDER Hannah 88 Adamsole Wm - Sarah (Moore) Vic. #11481

One event points to 1817 and another to 1821. Don't know what William's name really is as neither Adansole nor Adamsole seem to exist.

Married in Victoria in 1862 as Ann Nancarrow.

So looking for marriage of William to Sarah Moore probably London/Middx before 1822.

Birth/baptism for Ann/Hannah??

Marriage for Ann/Hannah to either Dodd or Nancarrow before 1862.

Not an easy one at all.

Thanks,

Dave

I was wondering if the surname could be Adamson - the way the letter n may have been written could possibly look like le.

Anyway there is a Hannah Adamson marrying a William Dodd in Easington, East Riding, Yorks 1 11 1845. Unfortunately I can't find any further details.

No matter how I spell the surname I can't find William or Hannah in 1851 Census. Nor can I find a Dodd marrying a Nancarrow or a death for William Dodd.

You mention the date 1862 - is that when Ann/Hannah arrived in Australia. Any chamce she arrived as Dodd and married Mr Nancarrow after arrival?

Thanks Emeltee.

Thanks trace.

This is an offshoot of http://www.forum.familyhistory.uk.com/showthread.php?t=30953

A summary

Marriage 1861 NANCARROW Thomas (b. ) - DODD Anne (b. ) Vic. #54A

Marriage 1862 ACKROYD Jonas (b. ) - NANCARROW Ann (b. ) Vic. #4349

Thomas Nancarrow died in between. I don't know that the Ann Nancarrow is the Anne Dodd.

The Ann who married Jonas died as MULDER with parents as listed.

Death 1905 MULDER Hannah 88 Adamsole Wm - Sarah (Moore) Vic. #11481

Hence the search for a marriage to either Dodd or Nancarrow before 1862.

Can't see a marriage on FS for a William Adamson to a Sarah Moore.

We have age at death for Ann/Hannah and also age at marriage.

Cert on Anc for Hannah and William Mulder:

Feb 8th 1893 at All Saints Ballarat Hannah Ackroyd widower (Jonas or June ? 1891), so was William – both born London, William was 76 and Hannah was 72 yrs – her parents = William Adamsole & Sarah Moore

I've not seen the image. I will look for it at the local library this afternoon. I may or may not be able to view it. Depends where the image is located.

Thanks gibbo.

Didn't know Hannah/Ann was buried with Jonas. I knew Gribble had to be an error.

Most of the results in Victoria are on the other topic.

I started this one for the English connections if found.

$25.10 for an image of a marriage or a death. :D

Looks like Ann/Hannah didn't marry a Dodd or a Nancarrow in Vic. So another state or England ??

Several deaths 1858 - 1861 in Vic. for a male Dodd if she arrived as a Dodd.

Bendigo Advertiser (Vic. : 1855 - 1918 ) Mon 16 Jan 1860 Page 3
On the 25th ultimo, at the Bendigo Hospital,
Thomas Dodd, surgeon's assistant, aged, 37 years,
a native of Liverpool.

The only death before 1861 in Ballarat/Bendigo/Eagle Hawk ... area.

No births in Vic. that fit with that Thomas as father. He may have been single.

Not the marriage to Dunn as there are births after 1861 to a Thomas Dodd & Mary Ann Dunn.

Yeah, nothing fitting for that Thomas...

I though they were in Ballarat?

Yes Ballarat area.

That Thomas Dodd is probably not connected.

If we assume no events outside state of Victoria then Ann married in England and arrived as Dodd or Nancarrow.

I don't have a copy of a Victorian marriage from around 1860 so don't know what might be on it.

Getting a death certificate might not solve the problem. Which one though?
