Hello Barbara,

Thanks for looking.

That is her death with yet another variation of LOITERTON. That particular shipping record film does not mention Ann's parents. There are usually two reels, one containing details from the agent such as names of parents and where living or if deceased and if there are any relations already in the colonies. So I would need to view either reel 2136 or 2464 when I get a chance to visit the State Library.

It's possible the death record is in error and her father is not John. I'd say the one I found was too far away.

They married at the Boston Grove St Chapel.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

And I suppose that the death record with the parent is only as good as the informant giving the information? Death records in Scotland show the parents but are often wrong as the informant was a son in law or even worse a neighbour who hadn't got a clue.

Hello Barbara,

Yes, or the matron at a country hospital in NSW who had to guess the information for one in my tree.

Even Wainfleet and Leake are not that close. I can't see that Leake has a Wesleyan chapel or not. A bit curious because Adam's three siblings married at CofE churches.

I hope the other shipping reel has something. One set of reels 1838 - 1896 has been digitised but the second (Agent) set is only done so far to 1842. It means going to the library.

Birth and death of a daughter. The family name seems to be the one most mistranscribed in my tree. :D

Birth V18542038 40/1854 LOCTERTON SARAH A - ADAM - ANN

Death 488/1858 LONERGAN SARAH DIED SYDNEY SYDNEY

Regards,

Dave
