Thanks very much Woody.

I'm not sure that's the Andrew I'm chasing. I wanted to check if 1861 agreed with earlier census that pob was Bathgate.

This is the one in my tree and he may have died before 1841.

Thanks Geoff.

That's interesting because that's the first one I've seen with 'born Abercorn' in any census.

I'll check his parents names and see if there is any pattern to naming of children.

Andrew's parents - Alexander & Jannet. Does not look good with a George & Philip.

Any sign of the Abercorn one in later census?

Thanks.

Dave

Thanks Geoff.

A journeyman Ag lab.

There are 4 trees with Andrew, 2 have the wrong mother and none have anything after 1815 birth in Abercorn.

I think this rules that one out - naming pattern and pob.

Andrew Anderson
birth: 27 November 1813
christening: 10 December 1813 TULLIALLAN,PERTH
father: Geo. Anderson
mother: Isabel Murgan Or Turcan

Looks as though mine died before 1841.

Possibly, though the Abercorn births are interesting and who's that in 1841, then?

Same as post #8.

Not all born Abercorn. Spouse Janet probably the only one born Abercorn in 1841 census.

George 2 - 12 and Philip 8 mo - 10

Yes, that's the family thanks Geoff. I have them in 1841.

In Abercorn Churchyard - Have photos of headstone.
The transcrition reads (with letters which have eroded away in brackets) :

IN MEMORY OF
ALEXANDER ANDERS(ON)
SOCIETY, LETTER-CARRIE(R)
CHURCH OFFICER WHO (DIED)
13 JUNE 1851 AGED 69 (YEARS)
AND
JANET KELTI(E)
HIS WIFE WHO D(IED)
24 MAY 1879 AGED 87 (YEARS)

1st Janet DANSKIN(E) - 4 children - Helen accounted for and the other three including Andrew must have died young.

2nd Janet KELTIE

Parish of Abercorn Page 100
1818
Anderson - Alexr. Anderson and Janet Keltie both in this Parish Procl. 8th Nov 1818
