Another Batchelor with strange goings on.

I can not find any trace of Blanch or Stephen. If Blanch remarried or lived in with someone they may have taken on his name.

Something to ponder..

I don't fully understand the thread yet, but one or both of this combination keeps appearing [using first names] and is starting to look right...

Marriages Q3 1877
Hill Edwin John V
RANCE George Stephen
RANN George Stephen
YOUREN Elizabeth Blanche
Southampton 2c, 40

1881
RD: Winchester
Ref: Piece: 1233; Folio: 13; Page: 26
Edwin John V. Hill 29 [b. Portsmouth. Boot maker]
Elizabeth Hill 23 [b. Southampton]
Stephen Richard Hill 6 [b. Southampton]
Blanche Ellen Hill 2 [b. Southampton]
Violet Louisa Hill

Blanche and Violet - mmn = Youren.

Geoff

EDIT: I can't see a Stephen Richard Hill that would fit properly..

He says married 34 y and still married, one child born alive and one living.

Partial copy for ID..

Saying he is still married is not helpful, unless Elizabeth Blanche is a sister of Blanche? That said, married 34y = 1877. Post #2 has the marriage as 1873?

In any event, this Stephen was born 3y before their marriage!

And Sarah Batchelor is noted as widow  That 1911 just makes things more confusing. Appears he is claiming fatherhood to one child, Stephen maybe.

It does o_O

It may be better to wait until Keith reviews it he will have more background on the family. It may just be coincidence with the 'Hill' theory.

Geoff

EDIT: Unless as you say, Stephen is that one child.
