Another Brick Wall Sarah Jane Williams

I have hit yet another brick wall so any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for the parents of "Sarah Jane Williams" who was born ~1898 who would be my great grandmother on my mothers side.

I know she married a Thomas Buckley (My Great Grandfather) on 9th June 1919 at St Pauls Church in Widnes. I have obtained there marriage certificate which was registered in Prescot.

Sarah Jane's age on the marriage certificate is 20 and her father is listed as John Williams.

Sarah Jane died in 1936 and Thomas a couple of years later so all of their children do not really know much of her history as they were all still really young. My Grandmother "Doreen May Buckley 1929" and other siblings (john, thomas, ronald, jeanette, edward, david) were born and raised in Widnes and they believe Sarah Jane Williams was from the area too but I am unable to find any records to prove it as I cannot find a birth certificate and "John Williams" is a really popular name. I was hoping to have some success with the 1901 census.

I am told Sarah had a sister called Elizabeth (lizzy) who married someone by the surname of Twigg and lived in the Wallasey area. I am unable to confirm if she was her sister but "Elizabeth Twigg" has signed her marriage certificate as a Witness. That would lead me to believe she may have been her older sister?

Apologies if this is information overload :)

Thankyou very much for your time.

Searching the Birth Index from 1895 to 1900 produces two Sarah Jane Williams

Mar 1895 Prescot vol 8b p744

Sep 1898 W Derby 8b 471

West Derby is the next registration district to Prescot. Of course you will have to send for the certificates in order to see if either one is correct.

Hi
I presume you have had some info from Steve.
Elizabeth Williams married William Twigg Dec qtr 1912 Prescot ref 8b 1211.

Looking at census records, there is a family in Widnes, John, boiler fireman, born 1851 with wife Maria 1849 with several children inc Elizabeth 1897 and Sarah 1900. This Elizabeth would only be max 16 at her wedding, but Sarah would be 20 at hers.
This is them in 1901 - Do you want anymore census details or are you ok now

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the above. I did manage to obtain that particular census record after Steve obtained the 1911 Census which I did not have access too on ancestry. Once I knew Sarah Jane came from Bootle it led me to the record you mentioned, but thankyou anyway!
