I have just read and he was born in Portsmouth but when he was 5 his family moved to Kent. I did think that he was born there but lived there from the age of 5 to 10. He did die in Kent though.

They moved to 16 Bayham Street, Camden Town in 1822. I have quite a good knowledge of Camden and it is 2 streets down from Camden High Street, near Pratt Street, about a third of a mile south of the locks, where I have been.

My great grandmother lived in Camden from 1898 to 1914 when she married her first husband but her parents lived there until about 1942 when they moved to Highgate.
