Nonconformist ancestors. I believe nonconformist records survive to a degree but many of them have not survived.
With the new Essex records released, I am still unable to find the baptism and parentage of Nathan Jackson Quilter born c1752 in Essex. He married twice in Hatfield Peveral then Rettendon and the wintesses seem to be from their brides side or friends. His will only mentions wife and children, no siblings or cousins. I am beginning to think his family were nonconformists and he was baptised in an independent chapel, or not baptised at all.
