I am trying to find out if HMS Caroline which was made in 1914 by Cammell Laird in Birkenhead was likely to have the Armour plate made by their plant in Sheffield. I don't know whether it was common for the Navy to order the whole thing from one company or possibly order ship from one and armour plating from another. I believe HMS Caroline is still in Belfast awaiting full restoration.
