Sometimes it would nice to have chit chat about other things other than than just family history and have some fun times and conversations.

My first article is these ozzie floods are becoming more wide spread moving into Northern territory and Western Australia.

WA is almost twice the size of QLD where you could fit UK into it 4 or 5 times,
just imagine the damage the floods could do in an area of that size if the rains get a proper hold there.:'(

Mum rang this morning and was saying a elderly couple who had to evacuate their home finally was allowed to go home only to discover some low life had been in and pinched all her jewellery

I can't stand that, talk about kicking someone when their down.

Yes there has been very good support from members of their community's But i don't like what someone can do when a person is down.

Did you notice all the snakes swimming in the flood waters, they are faster on water than on land.

One King Brown was a least 8' long, the worlds 2nd deadliest snake, wouldn't want to be caught in the water with them.

Fraser is fantastic, ever bin there.

Named after Eliza Frazer shipwrecked there in 1800s and looked after by the aboriginals, "sought of"'.

Nah never been there. Tho did go to Dunk of Cairns once, rich mans playground. Over priced over rated and quiet boring. Been to Magnetic Island to, not my thing. One place i did love was Ayers Rock/ Uluru:biggrin: Went there as a kid and will never forget it, it was truly a great experience. No flash motel etc when we went there. Camping in a tent and etc which i think made it all the better. Tho there was a mice plague on at the time and all night we could hear them climbing over the tent Climbed the rock and signed the visitors book:biggrin: Aboringines would be on the side of the road making their wood carvings etc and you could stop and watch them work and buy any if you wanted.

I was about 13 years of age or there abouts. Thats about 35 years ago:2fun:
We also flew over the Olgas. Yep i got in a plane back then, and a little one at that:2fun::2fun: Them mice climbing over the tent scared me more than the plane

My wife and i took a motor home trip to the Snowy mountains so she could see Blue Cow And Smiggin Holes, on the way we stopped at a wheat growing area to stay for the night in the motor home where there were millions of mice all climbing over each other and all over the vehicle.

My wife couldn't sleep that night for fear of the mice and she woke me up at 1am to hit the road again, just in case 'so she said'. the mice might get in.

She was petrified.

I understand how your wife felt. Us kids were terrified them mice would get us, any other animal roaming around didnt bother us in the least but them mice were a different story But then i guess if i come across a spider the mice would have moved to second place on the scare list then:2fun::2fun::2fun:

Gibbo, we only have 2 dangerous spiders here, the Trap Door and the Redback and if you don't annoy them they won't harm you, it's the same with the snakes, but it's those blooming crocs you have to be wary of, a person would have to be a "flaming galah', to stand on a river bank in north QLD as the crocs can leap out of the water very fast at about up to 4 meters and grab you.

By the way Blue Cow ski lodge got it's name from when it was farmers land and they had one cow that loved going up into the snow line every winter and enjoying the cold and that's how Blue Cow Resort got it's name.

We then went fishing at a place in Victoria called Bemm River fishing for bream, never saw so many fish, you could catch one every 3 minutes and very nice to eat.
