I have a John Kirby marrying an Elizabeth Harrison on 9th Oct. 1720, Dersingham (unspecified). I also have another John Kirby marrying an Elizabeth Handason on the 3rd Oct. 1720 (archdeacons transcripts).
My query:
Could these two Elizabeths be the same person as handason and Harrison sound slightly the same. Does the handason stand for Anderson or should it have been transcribed as Harrison. If they are the same but one spelt differently am I correct in thinking that the Harrison I went with is correct. What are the chances of two John Kirbys marrying two Elizabeths in the same month and in the same place being two different couples.

Familysearch have images of the original Archdeacons transcripts. The name looks like Harrison to me but I can see how it could have benn mistranscribed as Handason due to the style of handwriting. I would say that both marriages are for the same couple.
