Just a point to note, that the Veterans Agency have a fee of £30 to provide the service records of a member of your family. I shall dig out all the information I have regarding where such information is held, as there are two distinctive periods involved, as well as "are you the next of kin", if not, you have to provide further information.
Nothing is easy!

Just to add to the above.

There is no charge if you are the either the person who's records you are looking for or you are the widow of the person you are looking for the service records of.
