[Roots]

One of my ancestors might be from Ascension, Louisianna. What sort of French populations live here. Trying to determine if my ancestor may have been Acadian, Cajun, or some other. Thanks!

Arcadians and Cajuns are the same. The Arcadians that settled in Louisiana became known as Cajuns.

I also think many Creoles settled there as well. This was of mixed French, Cherokee ancestries.
