My involvement with family history began in 1981, and baring a few slips here and there I have been involved ever since. It has proved to be an educational and enlightening passtime It is also amazing what gets handed down in the genes as it were.
My research has put me in touch with some wonderful folk world wide, and I thoroughly enjoy catching up with them when I travel. It sure is more fun than just doing the tourist spots churches and chateaus.
My albatross/brickwall/no go zone - is my Simmonds family in London, followed closely by the Donaclift family of Ireland. These are mysterious
people who just seem to pop up and leave no trace.
Living in Australia was a slight impediment in the early days but not now.
The web has changed FH for ever, and for the better. Cheers
