Can anyone tell me if there is a "pound" sign on our aussie keyboards. I keep looking and still cant find one. Do the english have dollars signs on theirs or just a pound sign?

Hi Gibbo,
Yeah, 50 pence is half a pound (100p). It's about time they binned it and went into Euro's.

Are you sure you haven't broken of the £ sign.>:D :)

I'm sure there is a shortcut to get the £ sign, but I have not got a clue on that. Google here I come.

Cheers

Hi Karen

My computer is a ????????? well it has compaq written on the top and my son thinking he was funny stuck a bright red "WARNING" sticker on it. Still dont know if he was having a go at me or the brand of computer.

Its annoying having to write the word "Pound" all the time and it dont help that im cranky with the jolly thing to start with.

I have a spare keyboard somewhere, i might check out if it has the sign on it or not and if it has i might change them over.

Hi Gibbo
Maybe you could abbreviate by using the old "Lb" and confuse em all !! (the youngsters anyway that don't remember the imperial symbols!!)

Hi Karen

Confuse them all?? you had me confused for a minute then the brain kicked in and it registered what you meant. very clever!!

you know how you see that unusual artwork that is worth millions of dollars? Since i am cranky with my computer i have been wondering if a hammer sticking out if it would be classed as unusual and worth millions:D I wonder if it went flying if that would be classed as more unusual? If it plays up to much i will go and use the sons, cant miss my daily chats!

Hey, I found a good use for painful computers - they make great doorstops! LOL

Hi Karen

Im not very computer savvy and half the time it is something im doing and not the computer. My son runs when he sees me sitting there looking confused because he knows i have done something and i dont know HOW i did it and he is left to fix it. Great uncle Thomas turned into a screen saver once and i couldnt get him off there, another time i just turned the whole screen white, all the icons etc just disappeared. A doorstop sounds good but it would probably think pay back is sweet and i make me kick a toe or something on it. Anyway tomorrow is another day and a great one it will be!! A good night sleep for the computer and for me and we will get on find again in the morning.

Ah yes I can relate to all that! This generation is so different to when I grew up! My youngest son is also very savvy and cracks up at me too. I can get really frustrated sometimes and he just does things so quickly and easily, drives me nuts. Then I feel like an idiot because it all makes sense AFTER I have blundered!
Good night
