Three marriages in NSW:

5893/1904 TOVEY DARCY P - BLENKARN MARGARET - SYDNEY

6498/1914 BLENKARN ALFRED N - ROBINSON LILIAN - BURWOOD

13743/1929 WALKER JOHN B - BLENKARN GLADYS R - MANLY

Note: The index is not without errors. Often an initial will be wrong. That is not a 2nd marriage for Alfred Stanley so it's an Alfred possibly born in Victoria.

:'(A little sad news uncovered Horace & Blanche Had a little boy Dudley Symes Blenkarn who departed this life July 24 1901 aged 3 years 2 months at the residence of his grandmothers, Niagars Hotel. Lonsdale Street City.

Is there anywhere I could look to try and find out why he died????

Also I have found H.W.Blenkarn, Secretary of M.U.I.O.O.F Loyal Britannia Lodge Port Phillip District... does anyone have any idea what this is??

Hi IB
A death cert. might be the only way to find out what happened to him. The newspaper just has his death notices but nothing about cause of death.

Hello IB,

PM sent with a bit of stuff.

Thought they had been found in shipping record in 1889 but possibly not them as ages of children don't fit. Needs a bit more work to confirm it is the right family.

Regards,

Dave

Hello IB,

Yes, it looks as though the informant made an error with Horace William's father on the death certificate.

The marriage and death reg indicate some children not on your original list and some implied birth dates that are a bit different too. Also, the possibility there were twins born about 1888. It's possible two BLENKARN families arrived on the same vessel but I won't post the shipping record until I check a few things.

The deaths in NSW so they are all together:

4547/1929 BLENKARN ALFRED S - ALFRED E - ANNIE - PARRAMATTA

29234/1948 BLENKARN ROSINA MARTHA - NATHANIEL MARY ANN - MANLY

27575/1952 BLENKARN KATIE - LOUIS - DOROTHY - NORTH SYDNEY

5947/1964 BLENKARN GEORGE GROSVENOR - ALFRED ELSTON - ANNIE - SYDNEY

This birth rules out the possibility of twins. I will explain when I know more. :)

Births Jun 1888
Blenkarn Frederick John Edmonton 3a 303

There is no other Jun 1888 Edmonton registration or in preceding or following quarter in Edmonton.

Regards,

Dave

Hello IB,

One marriage in Victoria that was missed:

Surname: BLENKARM
Given Names: Geo Grovenor
Event: M
Spouse Surname: JACOBE [also JACOBI] [b. N. Melb]
Spouse Gvn Names: Katie
Birth Place: LONDON
Year: 1904
Reg. Number: 3895R <--- R indicates an alteration to the certificate - probably in Katie's maiden name. However, the index does not indicate which of the two is the correct one.

There is no sign of Mr J & Mrs and other children in Victoria so that shipping record is a real puzzle. It may or may not be Alfred E & Annie with 2 children or it may be them with all the children if the ages are incorrect or it may be two totally different families.

It is really curious. Looking in the Electoral Roll Index only the known names and corresponding name of spouse appear. There are no unknown given names that would fit for there being a 2nd family with children. I don't think there is a way of resolving this.

Regards,

Dave
