I don't know if that might be Richard using his middle name or not. That looks like a coastal steamer.

Can't find them on Assisted lists so looks like unassisted. Not all the Unassisted lists are on-line.

Well, the Mariners site has one hit for 1909 and nothing for the other variations of the name.

Did the family live in Bundaberg?

Avenell Heights Real Estate, Bundaberg, QLD.

The name was originally de Avenell / d'Avenell. HERE

Very old family name. Goes back before 1066.

This is the same notice in another paper but still difficult to read:

I think that is R. Avenell. It's a K or the top of the R is missing.
