James AVENELL of Farnborough Row aged 39 years buried 19th March 1857

Deaths Dec Qtr 1860 AVENELL James [75] South Stoneham 2c 28

Trees on FS attached to the 1818 baptism and 1841 census have a death for James born 1818 in 1860 and for James, husband of Martha, in 1857.

I'm confused and not just by those two deaths.

Baptism Register
St John The Evangelist Hale Surrey
George Vansomeren son of James and Mary Ann AVENELL of Farnboro's Row. Baptised 1st Feb 1850. Father's Occupation not given.

AVENELL James. 8 March. The Will of James Avenell formerly of Crookham Common but late of Park-road Freemantle both in the County of Southampton Brick and Tile Maker deceased who died 9 November 1860 at Park-road aforesaid was proved at Winchester by the oaths of Elizabeth Avenell of Park-road aforesaid Widow the Relict and John Houghton of Bath-row Birmingham in the County of Warwick Gentleman the Executors. Effects under £450.

Hampshire Advertiser 8 June 1861
Pursuant to an order of the High Court of Chancery made in the matter of the estate of
James Avenell, deceased, and in a cause "George Vansumren Avenell an infant, by
Mary Ann Avanell,
his next friend, against Elizabeth Avenell and John Houghton", the
Creditors of James Avenell, formerly of Crookham Common, in the county of Southampton
brick and tilemaker, and late of Freemantle, in the same county, who died in or about the
month of November 1860.

Do we have 3x or 4x James Avenell?

Was the farmer and hop planter married to Martha and then did he move and became a brick and tile maker married to Elizabeth ??

James Avenell married Martha Hale in Alton Hampshire 29 November 1810. He was from Farnham, Surrey. Martha died 1829 and James then married Ann Trodd 20 October 1831 in Hursley, Hampshire. Ann died 1845.

There is a marriage Mar 1857 Holborn 1b 543 between a James Avenill and an Elizabeth Smith.

The James Avenell who died South Stoneham in 1860 was buried at Millbrook and searching the address of Park Road in the 1861 Census brings up this entry
Elizabeth Avnill (mistranscribed Arnill) Widow 35 born London
William Smith brother 26 Labourer Farnham

The Park Road entry fits with the marriage and the probate entry.

The James Avenell born 1818 who died 1857 is the son of James and Martha Hale who married Mary Ann Foster. He was the father of the George Vansumeren Avenell mentioned in the newspaper article. It looks as though Mary Ann is trying to make a claim against her father in law's estate.
Thanks emeltee.

So the trees attached to records on FS have the wrong deaths.

And the farmer and hop planter married three times and moved and became a brick and tile maker.
