Death 21907/1929 KING AVIS - JOHN - SARAH - BURWOOD

The Sydney Morning Herald - Wed 4 Dec 1929 p.14
DEATHS
KING.-December 3, 1929, at her daughter's residence, 15 Burleigh-street, Burwood, Avis, dearly loved mother of Harriet, Bob, and Pearl, aged 76 years.

I can't see a birth for a Harriet or a Pearl.

Which daughter lived at that address?

Avis Shipp b 30 June 1853 Dapto to John Shipp (1820-1900) & Sarah Markham (1826-1918), married George King (1849-1911) on 8 Aug 1871 Crookwell NSW

Children

Harriett Selina King 26 Sept 1873 Orange – died1957 – married John Henry Cash June 1914

Thomas Alfred King 1876- 1917 – died Mesen in Begium

George Walter Ernest King 1880-1918 – died Flanders

Ernest W G King 1885-1885

Avis King 1886-1887

Robert John Henry King 1888-1981

Ivy Pearl King 1892-1979

Avis Shipp was the third child of John and Sarah and her parents had moved to Crookwell when she was about 15 years old. She married at the age of 18, on the same day that her brother William married Jane King. It may have been a double wedding except that on the respective marriage certificate it is stated that the ceremonies took place at the residence of the Brides Parents. Avis and George had six children and continued to live in the Goulburn/ Crookwelll/Wagga district for several years. The site of their farm house is today marked by a Mulberry Tree at Cunningdroo on the old Tarcutt Road close to the Ladysmith turnoff.

1928 Pearl was in Alphin street Lidcombe (from death of hubby’s notice on Trove) and on Sands Directory it has Mrs Avis King 1925 at 15 Burleigh Street, Burwood page 232

Thomas SHIP (aged 33) and Family on the vessel "Morayshire" in 1856. Reel: 2138. The "Morayshire" departed Southampton on 9 Oct 1855 and arrived in NSW on 19 Jan 1856.

bit more on John Shipp
John SHIP (aged 29) and Family on the vessel "Kate" in 1851. Reel: 2136. The "Kate" departed from Plymouth on 6th July 1851 and landed at Sydney on 8th October 1851. The family travelled under the governments assisted passage scheme. Also on board were Sarah's parents, Henry and Elizabeth MARKHAM, and five of her brothers and sisters. Her elder brother, Thomas, had emigrated earlier on the "Kate" with his wife and four children. Her sister Harriett had married Richard PRATT and remained in England.

Wesleyan
May 23rd, 1893 at the residence of Mr Rumble Crookwell
John Thomas Shipp Bachelor Dapto Farmer 25 Crookwell John Shipp Sarah Markham Farmer
Ada Jane Rumble Spinster Winche/Niuck ?carruk ? Private Life 22 Crookwell David Rumble Ann Julia Bensley Farmer
By me T. Frederick Potts
Parties signed:
Witnesses: William Rumble, Alice Rumble

I've not been able to work out that abode.

The Wesleyan films at the Mitchell Library are in red boxes meaning you are not allowed to take an image so I don't have that one saved on USB.
I've asked if I could save one single frame from the whole reel and I was told no. They remined me the reels in red boxes had to be used at a different table on film readers that have no USB.
