Hello,

1851 England Census
Name: Deborah Siver
Age: 62
Estimated birth year: abt 1789
Relation: Head (Mar)
Gender: Female
Where born: Hampton Court, Middlesex, England
Civil parish: Hampton Wick
County/Island: Middlesex
Country: England
Registration district: Kingston
Sub-registration district: Esher
Household Members:
Sarah Bullivant 14 Niece
Mary Vinny 80
Amelia Bean 18
Elizabeth Harwood 30
Mary Ann Tozer 45
Ellen Williams 29

I believe Deborah's unmarried sister Barbara NEWBERY is living in a 2nd ? cottage at the same address ??

I don't know if that means a double line across the page or what.

Please see if Barbara b. abt 1792 Hampton can be found in 1851. Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

Thank you very much.

:2fun: Previously I had only Sarah BULLIVANT and Mary Ann Kensett SLADE to chase up but now I have Jane BULLIVANT and another SLADE as well.

I have no idea who married BULLIVANT and who married SLADE.
All 4 are nieces of three sisters Barbara, Deborah & Mary G.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

One bit is solved. ;)

It's the other sister, Sarah Bachelor who married William SWALLING. I didn't have any children for them in my tree but they actually had lots. One married a BULIVANT and another married a SLADE.

Another curious thing. There is a HARWOOD living with Deborah and Barbara and earlier with the family. The will for Barbara Newbery of Elgin Cottages died 13 Oct 1865. Sole Executor Edward Harwood of East Mosley, Surrey.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Edward Harwood born abt 1826 Rockbeare, Devon abt 1826 occupation tailor. 1841 he is in Devon the head of household is also a Edward Harwood tailor born abt 1801, The 1851 census has he and Sophia Harwood wife living in the civil parish of St George Hanover Square. Still to find him in 1861. 1871/81 have Edward and Elizabeth Harwood, wife Elizabeth born Hampton Court, they are living in East Molesley, Surrey. I hav'nt come across a marriage for Edward and Elizabeth. Edwards probate gives Elizabeth Harwood as spinister, so does her probate.

1841 census has William Harwood occ tailor age 50, not born in county, living in the parish of St George Hanover Square with him are Elizabeth Harwood age 20 and Sophia Harwood age 15, both born in county. Address 62 Piccadilly. Edward and Sophia are living at 59 Piccadilly in 1851. At the moment I still han'nt a clue who Elizabeth Harwood is and is she related to the Newberys.

Hello Julie,

Thank you very much.

So far I know of only one sibling of John b. abt 1752 and that is Amelia b. abt 1768 so there is a huge gap for other possible siblings.

Name: John Newbery
Record Type: Burial
Event Date: 2 Nov 1832
Age: 80
Estimated birth year: abt 1752
Death Date: 02 Nov 1832
Parish: St Mary, Hampton
Borough: Richmond Upon Thames
County: Surrey
Abode: Hampton Court

Also, Barbara b. 20 Jan 1794 c. 21st had a twin brother Robert but he must have died young.

Regards,

Dave
