Searching for information about my paternal grandfather
JAMES BARR son of Neil Barr and Janet (nee Cameron)
James married SARAH BOYD in 1896
I have so far learnt of 3 children Neil, Catherine & Cameron
On the 1901 census Sarah was stated to be the wife of a soldier-reservist, so I would take that to mean that he would have been in the Boer War and would have been overseas
James died in 1913. Some years later Sarah remarried to William SOUTHAN
James had a middle name of Gilmour when he was born in 1869, however,. he dropped the use of the middle name, his marriage certificate states only James Barr
Sarah died in 1949, she was then living at Munroe Place, Campbell St. Greenock, the informant on her death cert was her son C.Barr
