Been having a Tudor Day

Loyal Member
Well not totally but played a tape of Tudor music and made some saffron bread from an old tudor recipe. Thinking although life may have been extremely hard it must have been a lot more peaceful. No traffic planes of music blasting from somewhere. I've already made biscuits last week. Very unusual flavour but not unpleasant. You can see why they fought battles for spices. Nearly everything they eat had spices in it. Anyway come the weekend weather permitting we are having a picnic outside the old tudor house and going on a tour with a specially trained presenter in tudor clothes, so thought I should make up some tudor or elisabethan food. Will have to freeze it as I can't make it all on the day and besides I have to know it will be edible. Our luck after several sunny days it will rain.
