Hi again, I am new to this so am struggling a little with navigating my way around. Firstly I would like to thank all of you who assist beginners like me. We all lead such busy lives and it is lovely that you would make the time to assist others. I really don't know where to start but shall do with Martha!
I am trying to locate any details of the family of my GGGG Grandmother:
Martha Smith (I think her middle name was either Jane or June)
I gather Martha was born in UK 11 August, 1808 (not sure)
Her mother may have been Marianne whom died aged 33
This may have been on 7 June, 1847 in Florence
The name D Collyer pops up as maybe her mother's surname
I do know that Martha arrived in Western Australia on the "Protector" on 25th February, 1830 as a servant accompanying John Randell Phillips (B: 17/12/1789 St Michael, Barbados Died: 27/12/1852 Albany, Western Australia). I gather the Phillips family moved from England to Barbados to take up plantation farming in St Lucy.
Martha Smith married John Randell Phillips 1st August 1839 in Western Australia
Martha died: 1st February 1857 and is buried in the Kanyacka Station cemetery, South Australia.
Their children were: John Randall, Georgiana, George Braithwaite and Mary.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
