Thanks gibbo.

I didn't list the children born in NSW because they are probably not on the vessel.

I think the middle name came from the vessel and that's the only one I've found so far. A bit odd that a family would be on that convict vessel. He was not in the army or a minister or colonial official as far as I can tell.

I have very little on Zachariah senior. Born 1788 Horsham, Sussex and died 1839.

And now its trivia time

Son Zachariah went to St Phillips Sabbath School in 1838

The Colonist (Sydney, NSW : 1835 - 1840)
Wednesday 21 March 1838

ST. PHILLIP''S SABBATH SCHOOL. - We have seen the two silver medals presented this year to the best scholars in the school, one girl, and a boy. The name of the former is Jane King, and that of the latter is Zachariah Berry. The medals are about the size of crown pieces, with very appropriate inscriptions and devices of a religious nature.

Yes thanks. :)

I can't find if the 3rd Reg of Foot was in Paris or Ireland 1816-1823. Looks as though they returned to England in 1822 to prepare for service in NSW.

Hi

I am a descendant of Edward Berry - his parents were Zachariah Berry and Mary Smith.

Children of Zachariah and Mary that I have identified are:
- Jane 1813 - 1876
- Robert 1815 - 1883
- Elizabeth Keziah - 1816 - 1908
- Zachariah Commodore -1823 - 1824
- Zachariah - 1825 - 1887
- John - 1827 - 1844
- Mary - 1828 - 1829
- Edward - 1829 - 1876

There is a gap in children between Elizabeth and Zachariah. I will pull out the information I have on Zachariah's military service.

Happy to share the information I have on the family.

Hello cranksygirl,

welcome to the Forum.

Any information on Zachariah's military service would be great even though it's a branch of my tree way off a main line.

Dave
