I can't find anything on Betty's parents. Probably need the help of a tree.


There is a John Bateman, joiner who marries a Mary Smith 8 Feb 1796 at Manchester Cathedral. Hard to read where he is from but could be Ashton and she is from Man. Not a clear record. I can send if you like. Seems Mally is form of Mary or at least when I search that is what comes up for Mally. I was thinking Amelia myself.
