Birth details amendments

I have 2 birth records that have an amendment where the page number is crossed through and another number inserted?
I assume that some changes are indicated - how does one find out what it was?

Maybe just an error corrected.
I wouldn't think a change of page number would make any difference to the details of the birth.

Only problem is that there is another birth to same couple and that has been altered!
The couple did get divorced but cannot see why birth details would have been altered!

I guess the purchase of the certs will be the only way to get the answer/s.

I will not bother as its not in my tree.
Just a bit strange, but not worth spending £11 to find out!😎
