I am at a brick wall for my Elizabeth Henson born 1871/2 in Middlesex.

I have a marriage certificate stating her father was Henry Hensen who was deceased on the certificate dated 1895 he was a Railway platelayer.
Having found a death in 1880 aged 51 of Henry but finding Elizabeth's birth is a blank .

On the census 1871 the family have an Elizabeth but aged 10 b1861
the youngest is Rosolind aged 4 b1867 it could be possible that Elizabeth was born before her fathers death in 1871 but is not present with her mother 1891 census she has only Rosalind aged 24 .

My Elizabeth Hensen married aged 24 and was working in Warwick in 1895 at the time of her marriage.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section

Hi Maggy

I think there is something not quite right. Are you sure the family you have are the correct one? It may be that Henry changed occupations but he was a bricklayer at the baptism of his children, Most of the children were baptised on the 19th jun 1865, including Elizabeth, who was born 25 nov 1860

hi maggy

early BMD records have 4 names or 2 couples per record, earlier have 4 couples, so I have highlighted the couple I think is your marriage, As long as these two names match your couple there isn't a problem.
Rosalind's birth record is there as well, if you want it just let me know

You may have this info, but it may help others trace 'Elizabeth'

1911 RG14PN18549 RG78 PN1111 RD390 SD2 ED11 SN282 Charles is a Widower aged 37 living in Coventry with Children George 14 Warwick, Charley 11 Leicester and Harry 7 Leicester - there is a death od an Elizabeth in 1902

1901 RG13-2991-75-29 Charles 27 Warwick Builders Lab with Elsie 29 Middlesex, George 5 Warwick, Mary 3 Leicester, Charles 1 Leicester, Elsie same age and birthplace as Elizabeth!! - I think Elsie is an error.

1881 census RG11-3088-109-7 gives Charles Hirons with parents and Ben and Mary Ann, Ben and Mary were witnesses

death

Name: HIRONS, Elizabeth

Registration district: Coventry

County: Warwickshire

Year of registration:1910

Quarter of registration: Jan-Feb-Mar

Age at death:38

Volume no:6D Page no:322

everything points to Elizabeth being born 1871/2 which does not tie in with the record I posted, This and Henry's occupation makes me think it is not that Elizabeth, but so far I've not found an alternative

Thank you for your help if you have Rosalinds birth I would like it also.

I am now going to order the death cert for Elizabeth 1910 as I know this is correct.

On searching a while ago the only Elizabeth Henson b1871 I found an Elizabeth Henson in 1881 RG11 1537 FOL29 Page 16 Reg Potterspury parish Cosgrove.

Living with Uncle Benjamin Henson 69 and Aunt Mary 66 but all born in the same area my theory was that after her father died in Middlesex she was sent to live with family in Northampton but thats just to easy !!!

Re: Birth of great grandmother

I think we can rule out the Elizabeth from Cosgrove.
In 1871-1475-70-11 she is with Benjamin and Mary aged 5months g. daughter.
1861-927-25-7 family is Benjamin, Mary, Thomas, George, Harriet, Eliza

1891 Harriet now married name Baldwin, Elizabeth now 20 step daughter

marriage Elizabeth Henson Jun 1896 Pottesbury

Henry seems to have been a twin to Sarah, but I'm not convinced this is the right family as Elizabeth's age is way out. I'll see if I can find anything with Elizabeth from Cosgrove
Just been doing a recap and have realised that the baptism record of Rosalind is dated 1872 and her birth date was altered or overwritten 1865 plus as it is around the date of birth of Elizabeth I am wondering why she was not christened along with Rosalind ?

Its all confusing !

If Rosalind turned out to be Elizabeth then search is over but I am doubtful.
Other family researchers are adamant that Henry and Elizabeth nee Parberry are her parents .

I fear that this may be another skeleton in the cupboard uneartherd:confused:
