G'day,
I'm a new member and pretty new to genealogy as well. I'm looking for information on/prior to my gg grandfather John (or Jonathon) Black from Portstewart, Northern Ireland. Born c 1796, married to Charlotte Jaques (born c1807) - arrived in Pt Adelaide, South Australia in 1858 with 8 of their 10 kids - 2 eldest had preceeded them. Both John & Charlotte died in Port Lincoln, South Australia.(1864 & 1902)
John was a blacksmith. Charlotte had a brother John in Dublin with Irish mother and French father. Children's birth dates range from 1834 to 1854 and I know that at least the last 4 were born in Portstewart. Would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Howard

Thanks Leefer,
I'd like to get birth and marriage details of both John and Charlotte, if possible. Family stories indicate that John was born in Londonderry area c 1796. The first of their 10 children, William, was born c 1834 and the last,
Joseph, in Portstewart, c1854.
Thanks,
Howard
