Hi, I am trying to tracebirth information for my grandfather William Blake Coote.
I believe he was born to Eliza Blake ( as an unmarried mother) between 1883/85.
Eliza went on to marry William Coote in Mar 1886 in Chelsea, London, although William coote may have been the father or went on to take young William as his son.
He was probably registered as William Blake at birth & probably born in Kensington or Chelsea.

Hi Julie, Thanks for that reference but I've got that birth certificate in front of me & this William blakes' parents are Henry & Rachel Blake (nee Naunton). My William Blakes mother was Eliza Blake from Kensington born Mar 1866.
I have found a William Blake born in Kensington in Sept 1884.
I think William Blake was born out of wedlock between 1883/85 as Eliza married William Coote in Chelsea in 1886.
This William Blake looks a good probability though ordering the birth cert will tell me for sure. Gill

I noticed I have done another thread on this one so I will say that I found my grandfather, William Blake Cootes', birth in sept 1884 in Kensington. Thanks everyone.
