Hi,
I've just received a photocopy of an article in the Walsall Observer dated 8/5/1915, it's about my gr. grandfather Sgt. John Sanders/Saunders, 8990 who was killed in WW1, with the 1/5 South Staffordshire Regiment.
It also states that he fought and, was captured in the Boer War and, he was awarded 3 medals and, 7 bars.
Is their a database which holds prisoners names, also medal rolls or muster lists, i've tried the National Archives but, not had any success yet.
I'm taking it for granted that he was with the Suoth Staffords in the Boer War aswell.
Iain
