Hi, I'm new here but not new to genealogy. I 've been researching for over 15 years and am now trying to attack the brick walls that I've never managed to knock down.

At the moment, I am looking into the origins of Harriet Booth Wright b1792.
She married George Bulmer in 1814 in Lincolnshire and had at least 6 children. I have all that info but am trying to trace her parents/siblings. I assume that the Booth was a family name, possibly mother's maiden name.

Any connections I have found have lead me to London, but I'm not sure that is the correct family.
I know it's a long way back, but any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Please do not waste your time looking for more recent info because as I've said, I have all that.

Cheers Olly

25 Jan 1828

Not quite sure what the Booth connection is yet, will try to sort it out.

have now found the Booth connection :-

Stamford Mercury 14 Dec 1804
"last week was married Walter Wright MD of Spilsby to Mrs Booth of Wainsfleet St Mary in this county"

The funny thing is the marriage was at St Cuthbert in Edinburgh, Nov 24 1804

So the Mssrs Booth referred to when Mary died in 1825 are the sons of her first marriage. But is Harriet, b ~ 1792, the daughter of Walter or Mary ? Walter's death announcement definitely says she is his daughter and Mary's does not say Harriet is her daughter so it looks like she is the daughter of Walter's first marriage. But why take Booth for a middle name ?

It now gets more complicated :- the Lincolnshire archive has papers titled "Defendants' Case in a cause of incestuous fornication" dated 1811 re Adlard Thorpe Booth v Walter Wright esq doctor of physic, on the subject of marriage of deceased wife's sister (which of course was illegal at that time)
It wouldn't be very expensive to buy a copy and that might solve everything !

Adlard Thorp Booth was bap 1785 in Wainfleet, s.o. Robert and Mary Booth. they also baptised Robert 1778, George 1780 and Richard 1788. Robert Booth married Mary Thorpe at Wainfleet 1777 so there must be a marriage between Walter Wright and a female Thorpe but I can't find it.

Anyway I think this gives you a lot more to play with !!
Good luck

So that must be the George & Richard, witnesses at Harriet's wedding.

Some nice finds there, Elaine..

Thank you both, and particularly you Stockpot for the info you have provided. I have been trying to sort that for some years and whow! you've done it in a few days.
I will certainly contact the Lincolnshire Archives to get a copy of the info.
Thank you again.
