Charles fathers name is George, as listed on his marriage certificate

George : 11 May 1865 - abt 194
James: 27 Feb 1867 - 07 May 1929
Charles William : 03 Feb 1869 - 06 Jul 1930
Margaret: (07 Feb 1871 - 28 Dec 1953
Elizabeth Matilda : 02 Feb 1873 - 09 Jan 1874
Adelaide: 03 Apr 1876 - 27 Dec 1929
Eliza Matilda: 15 Nov 1877 - abt 02 Apr 1944

Ethel Lily May : 26 Jun 1881 - abt 1950

***
Charles wife Ann Brown
Christening Date 08 Aug 1839
Christening Place GREAT DRIFFIELD,YORK,ENGLAND
Father's Name James Brown
Mother's Name Eliza
England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975

I have not been able to find Charles entering into Australia or his birth in the UK

Any help would be appreciated to see if we can pin him down... is he English or is he Welsh ??

Has he been found on the 1841 census?
And do you have a name for his mother?
To be honest I don't know where to start to look for him on a 1841 census because I'm not sure if he is English or Welsh and not sure what region I should look for him

Only have George as father on his Marriage certificate no mother listed.

No real idea for mothers name

Sounds like 2 different people did the newspaper article and the death cert.

Who was the informant on his death cert? Someone close to him who would know for sure where he was born?

Gibbo,

His son Charles William Bowen was the informant on his death certificate, so you would think he would know.

With regards to the newspaper article I would have thought it would have been a family member? could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time
