Hello everyone, I’m Hayley
Hoping one of you legends can help me,

James Mason
17/11/1905 born Packmoor wolstanton Uk to a Joseph Mason DOB unknown and Sarah Ann Tuner DOB unknown, I’ve searched and searched for them and found some things but o don’t believe it’s the right info.. no marriage details etc … Can anyone Help?
James had a brother also called Joseph who died 19/02/1919 and is buried at Hordley Cemetery. He had a brother called George as well. At some point all the children were put into an orphanage for reasons unknown and what became of Joseph and Sarah Ann is also unknown.

I have James Mason 17/11/1905 born packmoor wolstanton, married Elizabeth Crowther and he died 1941 he has a son and daughter John James Mason and Elizabeth, his brothers were George and Joseph.. Joseph died 19/02/1919 and is buried at Hordley war cemetery.. here’s where I’m stuck.. birth certificate for James lists Joseph Mason and Sarah Ann Turner. I can’t find anything for these not even their marriage. Help would be appreciated. Thank you

MASON, JESSIE - TURNER
GRO Reference: 1896 M Quarter in MACCLESFIELD Volume 08A Page 138

I'm not sure as Turner is a common name.

The hamlet of Stanton Hill is in RD Mansfield but I can't find a birth reg for Annie E Mason who fits the census.

Armitage is in RD Lichfield but again I can't find a birth reg for Alice M Mason who fits the census.

Thank you everyone, I don’t have much information as everyone who would know anything has now passed away so it’s all information from their children etc, I was told that they was fostered under the surname Sutton if that helps, it’s also possible that it was Sarah’s second marriage but I have no idea, while I’ve been trying to find Joseph and Sarah Ann I’ve found information relating to the surname Finney but again not sure if it’s correct? Also with Joseph links to Scotland but again I have know idea if any of that’s correct .. sorry I’m not very good at all this ☹️

It's a brick wall and hard to break down.

Other members may be able to find something that rules in or out a lot of the details posted.

With regards to George dying in 1917 I don’t think that’s him as I know my Granny Elizabeth who married James was originally in a relationship with George which would mean he was still alive in 1917?! I would think 🤔

The marriage is ruled out.

Joseph Mason
Age 32
Father's Name Samuel Mason
Spouse's Name Sarah Ann Phillips
Spouse's Age 27
Spouse's Father's Name George Phillips
Marriage18 Nov 1891
Event Place Cobridge, Staffordshire, England

I can't find the marriage of a Joseph Mason to a Sarah Ann Turner in England, Wales, Scotland or Ireland.

Coal miner fits.

It means Sarah did not first marry a Phillips.

If the census in post #8 is correct then I can't find Joseph in 1891, 1881 or 1871 census born Derbyshire abt 1861.

ahh okay, it’s so tricky. I feel I may never know about them, I wouldn’t know how to ever find out either. I contacted someone and they quoted me £8000 to research my family for me, if only I was rich haha
