Hi everyone
I thought I would let you all know that I have demolished one of my brick walls. Hurrah!!

I was looking for the father of William Whiteway living in Devon and on his son's marriage certificate it states that he was an Innkeeper . His son William was born in Ilsington Devon. ( between Bovey Tracey and Newton Abbot in 1816.
I found one in Kingsteignton but it felt wrong. Know what I mean ?
I found another one in the next parish ,Father was a servant. Then I chanced to see a Death cert for the wife of said father and realised that she died a month after the Census. I looked up the Census using the wife's name and up they came. I had tried using William Whiteway and nothing came up. I was still messing about and then received a email from one of the members of the Devon F.H.S. which I had just joined. It was to say that I was right, and proceeded to give me the details of William Snr. who was an Innkeeper in Newton Abbot and came from Bickington nearby.

Be patient, and all will be revealed !!
Anyone seen Robert Reuben Jefferiss born 1801 somewhere in ENGLAND
I am still looking !! I should have added that William Snr left a Will naming his son William and his address in Greenwich so that proves it.

Good hunting to all :D

Well done Maddie, 10 out of 10 for observancy.
Happy you've had good fortune in knocking that old brickwall down.:)

I wouldn't have found that if it was stuck to my forehead, and looking in a mirror.:D

Congrats on demolishing one of your walls. Good stories like this give us the inspiration to carry on and try to break our's down too. :) :)
