Re: Bridget KEATING

Bridget died 1918.

Freeman's Journal
Thursday 7 February 1918

Mrs. Bridget Keating, relict of the late Ambrose Keating, who died some time ago, passed away in Sydney, after suffering for many years from rheumatism, on the 30th ult., aged 65 years. She is survived by one son, Mr. Ambrose Keating, of the Railway Department; The body was brought, to Goulburn, and the funeral left her late residence, Union-street, on the 31st ult., for the Catholic cemetery, Kenmore.

3565/1918 KEATING BRIDGET PATRICK MARY AUBURN

Parents on the death index dont match what you have on the birth index:confused:

Thanks gibbo. :)

That was a difficult one. :2fun:

Have I got the wrong birth?

Re: Bridget KEATING

Oh.

Possibly both born in Ireland.

More than one SEERY family in Queanbeyan then.

I can't find a tree.

Only a Patrick & Ann in Goulburn and no births around 1853 with father = Patrick.

I checked SEERY and SEARY.

One death:

9596/1876 SEERY PATRICK - PATRICK - MARY - QUEANBEYAN

Re: Bridget KEATING

Thanks gibbo.

It seems Patrick and Bridget who arrived 1874 were not related.

We have nothing that says Bridget's parents also ended up in Australia. We also don't know how accurate the age at death is.

Re: Bridget KEATING

That's the only difference Geoff so I'd say an error. Gone for a more common name when the transcriber had problems reading the record.

It would seem that the source of the records you post is not the NSW BMD Historical Index but the original returns to the Registrar General.
