BRITTON & CAINES & COOL & WILMOTT families

I'm stuck with Susanna. Can't find enough to say how she is related to Aaron or Isaac.

If Giles and son Giles died in 1800 then I find it impossible to believe Giles b. 1796 and baptised 1808 and in the census is the son of Thomas b. 1782 and Dinah BRITTON b. 1785.

Betty BRITTON's parents Thomas BRITTON & Ann HOPKINS/HAWKINS

Looking for a baptism for Hannah JONES in Gloucester - huge number - only a few in Bitton that seem either too early 1750 or too late 1775.

Isaac baptised 1766 but don't know at what age.

A popular BI has Hannah's death at 1852 aged 90, putting her birth around 1762, some of the trees have this, but no parents..

9 May 1852 Hannah Peacock aged 90, Kingswood, Holy Trinity, bur.

Maybe more info on MI if there are any!!

Hello Geoff,

I wonder if that is a different Hannah and if we can find which one because the search for son Joseph's death after 23 April 1833 puts the death of a Hannah PEACOCK around that date. It's been taken this is the spouse of Isaac because the Letters of Administration were signed by son Joseph, and marked with x by son Aaron and son-in-law John BRYANT (married Ann).

I suppose it is possible another family has sons Joseph & Aaron and a son-in-law John BRYANT. One curious fact, Joseph is named as NOK and signs as such although the eldest brother Daniel was definitely still alive in 1833 but he is not mentioned.

Next step then is to find the Hannah who died in 1852 in 1851 and 1841 census.

PEACOCK & Hannah marriages 1775-1840:

1786 Bitton Abraham & STONE
1790 Siston Joseph & SAMPSHON
1817 Bristol John & LEONARD
1819 Siston Joseph & BATT

I've not checked for Ann(e).

If progress is made with my tree as a result of this topic it will be a mystery how.

How do I know when to expect a birth/baptism or a marriage to be under the mother's name?

What's the next step? Decide the parents of Giles in the census.

Thanks Geoff.

I wonder if it's correct Hannah died on 23rd and buried on 28th. Perhaps an error and buried the day she died. ??? But which date?

Dave

I would say as long as it's not cut and paste. Often it's the formatting not the content that is a problem. A re-arrangement and/or re-wording should do.

I have edited post #1 with one more age at baptism - 20 years

27 Jan 1833 Joseph Peacock aged 64, Siston, St Anne, bur.

Thanks Geoff.

Don't know yet how that one might fit.

Perhaps fits this marriage:

1790 Siston Joseph & Hannah SAMPSHON

I'll dig out a few deaths and we can try to work out their births.

25 Feb 1821 Aaron Peacock 78, Bitton, St Mary, bur.
20 Aug 1822 Aaron Peacock 31, Bitton, St Mary, bur.

Only one Giles:
1 Sept 1818 Giles Willmott 19, Bitton, St Mary, bur.

19 Sep 1863 Thomas Wilmott 80, Siston, St Anne, bur

Geoff

There are more Giles WILMOTTs than I thought.

2x Giles died Oct 1800 Bitton as well as a Mary WILMOTT - no ages on the info I have.

25 Feb 1821 Aaron Peacock 78, Bitton, St Mary, bur.

I know where that one fits. :) Takes me back one more generation.

Aaron is the father of Isaac baptised 1766, who is the father of Daniel b. 1792.

Where is Samuel? I guess no Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. :D
