Burgess - Wilde family history

Hi all,
I am wondering if anyone could help with my Burgess/Wilde family history, Lancashire England I think. My grandmother was Sarah Emma Elizabeth Wilde 1894 - 1942 and my "grandfather" was James Henry Burgess . I am trying to establish if in fact James is my actual grandfather.
James immigrated to Bristol Massachusettes in 1908 and Sarah Wilde in 1912. I dont have a marriage certificate. They had three children there - Viola 1915, James and Raymond. I have records of Sarah and Viola travelling to ànd from England and USA in 1916.
At some stage Sarah and Viola moved back to St Helens Lancashire permanently.
I am wanting to clarify if James traveled back and forth from USA and UK. I have found a couple of possible that has his approx birth year 1894. One was from Southampton 28/7/1924. One would work in around my father's birth - depart Liverpoole 22/12/1928.

I would be very grateful for any help on this or finding any other names ect or information of gg grandparent or further back.

Had 3 children in USA but had how many children in England?

Dave this might clarify a little more

1. James immigrated to America in 1908, Sarah Wilde in 1912.

2. I am presuming they were married in USA as the 1920 cencus names Sarah as wife and a Burgess; also Viola who was born in (1915) in Massachusetts. I have her birth certificate.

3. My father, Kenneth Burgess was born on 20/4/1929 in England. I have birth registration for Prescot Vol. 8b page 1315. He immigrated to Adelaide, Australia 30 March 1950.

4. I'm not sure how many other children besides dad were born in UK. I know Denise. I think others were Maurine, Elizabeth and Winnifred, but not positive.

Thanks for this. In the 1920 cencus information I have, there is no mention of James, son 2. I believe he was killed in an accident around 1942 whilst making his way back to army camp. This is family word of mouth. I dont have any documents.

It certainly looks like Sarah. I wouldnt think there would be many people with the same three names born in 1895.

James Henry could well be right.

I am still very green at this, but seem to muddle through. Can you tell me exactly where you search find these names-site?

Dave, believe it or not, I only have his birth register and I dont know where I got it from

It says births registered in April, May, June, 1929.
Burgess, Kenneth Mothers maiden name, Wilde, District- Prescot, Vol-8b, Page-1315.
I will check if my mum has his actual birth certificate

According to the information I have been sent by a cousin in Uk, James Henry's father was a Harold Burgess.

Again, this looks like them. A little confused with parents names. James'fathers name William ( could be william Harold or Harold William) mother Mary Jane Wilde.
Sarah was a Wilde, so I wonder if in fact James and Sarah were related before marriage. Maybe cousins? The plot thickens!
I will see if I can research more into this information.
