Burrows Willcocks Arthur Sleigh.

I have found this chap mentioned as a witness at his brothers 1843, Oxfordshire marriage. Well I assume it is.

His brother is William Cambell Sleigh, born 1819, in Ireland.

Witness -B.W.Arthur Sleigh. 2nd. Militia, India Regt.

All I can find on him...potentialy, is a death in Chelsea in 1869.

Year of Reg: 1869 J-F-M


And a possible marriage in Liverpool in 1867 to either Emma Oriana Papps or Mary Elizabeth Evans.

I have found an Emma Oriana Papps b.1835. Willesden, Middx.

Also a marriage for Emma Oriana Sleigh in 1876, Croydon.

Not found him in any census, and not even sure he is the same chap that I'm looking for.

Found Emma O. Langmore in 1881. married to Frederick G. Langmore

One of her children is called Ethel J.Sleigh, b.1865. Chelsea.

Found her baptism - Father -Burrows Willcocks Arthur Sleigh. Retired Lt.Colonel in H.M.S (would that be In Her Majesty Service).

Theres a divorce petition on TNA for Emma Alice Sleigh and William Arthur Warner Sleigh - Date 1877.

The Chelsea Pensioner records are at the National Archives but I think there is somewhere you can download them but I'm not sure about that.

Tried accessing them at the TNA, but nothing appears.

Similar article in nine other papers. All have his name as Bernard W. A Sleigh.

The Pall Mall Gazette (London, England), Monday, March 29, 1869; Issue 1287.
The death is announced this morning of Lieutenant-Colonel Bernard W. A. Sleigh, who was the founder and first proprieter of the Daily Telegraph. He was formerly connected with her Majesty’s 77th and 2nd West Indian Regiments. He was the brother of Serjeant Sleigh.
