Marriage 349/1863 POWELL BURTON - RUDDLE MARY ANN - SYDNEY * 5 May 1863

Can't find a notice in Trove

I don't know if that is on the CofE Sydney set on A.... If it is it may have Burton's age.

Yes thanks Geoff.

A rare case where the # in church register matches the ref # from Registrar General used in the on-line index.

St. Philip is the oldest parish in Australia so looks like those records were indexed first and so the # match.

No. 105 When Baptised: 12 May 1839 When Born: 7 March 1839 Sydney son of Thomas Eyre & Elizth. Mitchell Powell Abode: Princes Street Sydney Quality or Profession: Settler By whom the Ceremony was performed: William Cowper

Baptism records very rarely say where born.

BIRTHS
During the voyage from London to Sydney on board the Susan, in Bass Straits, on Thursday, the 7th March, the Lady of Thomas Eyre Powell, Esq., late of Laurall Lodge, Castle Connell, County of Limerick, of son.

Thanks Geoff.

Didn't have any record of him ending up in gaol. Lots of ref to him being fined for minor offences.

So Burton may be younger.
