I recently traced my Great Grandfather William Brown to Southwell in Nottinghamshire, and was lucky to find the shop and slaughter yard where he worked, still a butchers shop. He was called Butcher Brown by the people in the town.
The Trade directories showed he had shop from 1869.
He had a son (George) and daughter. His wife was Mary.He died in c.1920.
George moved to Shropshire and married Rose Swain c.1905. Living in Wem Shropshire by 1911 census, and had three children 1914, 1916 and 1918.
Can anyone add anything about William? or his children? or about George and Rose?
