I have been tracing my family ancestry and have it a BRICK WALL and have totally exhausted every avenue I can think of. I am hoping someone may be able to help :)
My gg grandfather Neil Campbell was born in Londonderry about 1811. I have his death certificate which state parents ggg Neil Campbell Handloom Weaver and Catherine Whitelaw both deceased. They had other children Robert B1820, Jane B1825, Catherine B1823 born in Girvan and Barony. Cannot find them on the census anywhere. :(
Can anyone give me suggestions on what to try next. I would greatly appreciate some help ;)
Cheers Kay (Australia) :)

Hi Rubeaz

welcome to FHUK

Did Neil Campbell emigrate to Australia at all? If so, what part of Australia have you first got records of him?

Hi Ben :)
Thanks for replying to my post. My grandmother Elizabeth Campbell migrated to Australia in the 1950's. She married Gregor Macgregor in Glasgow 1921.
Her father was Robert Campbell born 1852. His father was Neil Campbell B abt.1811 in Co.Londonderry and died in Scotland in 1858. His death certificate states his parents Neil Campbell (Handloom Weaver) and Catherine Whitelaw.
 I think my Campbells only started moving from Scotland around the 50's.
I have checked the 1841 scottish census and think CAMPBELL/WHITELAW both may have died by then. They had another son Robert B1820 in Girvan but I have been unable to find anything on him.
I'm close to giving up - it's becoming to hard especially when you are in another country!
To my knowledge except for Neil's birth in Londonderry I think my "Campbells" lived mainly around Glasgow.
Thanks again Ben (PS I have a son Ben!)
