tamworth staffordshire
I am looking for the parents of Lydia Wheeler b1891 in Westham London Have just found her on the 1911 census liveing with my nans brother in law with his family it says she is a niece.I have looked for her on ancestry and bmd but cannot find her birth or on any other census so cannot find her parents.Any help please.Christine
She could be one of the two Lydia Wheelers registered in the Romford District in 1891.
In 1901 there is a 10 year old Lydia, shown as born Barking, living at 12 Liddington Road, West Ham, with parents Thomas & Eliza and siblings, Edith, Annie, Clara and John.
I think I have with your help found them got a Thomas Wheeler married to a Eliza Mepham in 1889 in Romford Essex its the Mepham conection was trying to make the found Thomas and Eliza in 1891 and 1901 census still in essex so think they are the right ones trouble s cannot find the marrage in the London list on Ancestry which could give me the parents so will have to go searching.
A possibility for Eliza in 1871 seeing that her yob of birth is given as abt 1865 and pob Marylebone.

yes 1871 census you have them what I am trying to confirm is that this is the same Eliza Mepham that married Thomas Wheeler that I found married in 1891 as found Lydia Wheeler in 1911 census liveing with John and Caroline Mepham says she niece so think her mother could be a sister to John Mepham he had a sister Eliza Mepham christine
