I am looking for information on Captain James Nelson Hamilton McAlister Kerr. What is known is that he was an elected vice-president of the Lancashire Football Association between 1881 and 1886 through his connections with Church Football Club (Blackburn). He was subsequently the first President of the Isle of Man Football Association in 1890 (Association was founded in February of that year) and 1890-91. He died in Manchester in 1908, aged 62.

A storm cell just passed over. We may have had half of the average March rainfall in 30 min.

He does not seem to be using all those names as very little turns up when searching.

Could the OP give details of where the information came from. There is no references to him at Isle of Man Football Association, Lancashire Football Association or Church Football Club (Blackburn) and no death record in Manchester.

'Captain' Kerr - actual date of death is 10th March 1908. (Would have been circa 35 at time of 1881 Census)
I published the Centenary history for the Isle of Man Football Association in 1990 and there certainly are references to him in local Manx newspapers for 1890!
Also I was in Preston on 28th February 2019 and visited the Lancashire County Archives there - the Minute Book for the Lancashire Football Association shows he was an elected vice-president for 5 years between 1881 and 1886.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
